Top UAD Guitar Sounds, #1 Marshall Amps Jerry Cherry
Welcome to my Blog. This is the first of a series of videos that I’ll be making where I use my Top UAD Guitar Sounds to record an original song.
Today I’ll be using a few plugins from Marshall to record a song that I co-wrote and originally recorded back in 2001 with Mark Dinowitz, and Dave Scott. The song is called called “On Our Own.”
I use the Universal Audio Apollo Twin along with its console software, and I use Protools as my DAW. If your interested in it, here's a link to check it out Apollo
One thing I do in this video is solo the tracks outside of the mix. I also breakdown the plugins that I used for each part.
On the first sound I used the Marshall Plexi for the clean rhythm. You just need to back off on the gain but you get that great British clean sound. I also used the UA Realverb Pro, and some native PT’s chorus.
For the second sound on the pre chorus I used the Marshall Bluesbreaker. I also used the UA Realverb Pro and some chorus. Using my SG along with the Bluesbreaker is very reminicent of what Eric Clapton used in the 60’s. Great choice for the slide part.
The third sound I use the Marshall Jubilee. I double tracked this with two different guitars playing the same thing. I used my Strat, and my SG. This Anniversary amp was made in 1987 for only one year. Slash loved them so much that he reissued them and put his name on it. I own one of them. It’s a great sounding Marshall.
Last but not least for the melody solo I used the Marshall Jubilee again but I added my Hotone Blues overdrive pedal. Thanks to the Universal Audios’ Unison technology I’m able to plug the pedal right into the interface just like I would with a real amp.
Thank you for watching my first video in my series of Top UAD Guitar Sounds. If you have any questions about any of these plugins let me know in the comments below.
I’m really in love with all of the UA plugins. The majority of my latest album was made with them. Click here to get my latest album "Married To Myself"
I want to thank Universal Audio, and Marshall, and Softube for making such wonderful plugins.
I post a new Guitar video every Wednesday so please tune in.
Remember. Be cool, Be kind, and Be Cherry.
