How to Use Triads to understand Modes
A great way to understand MODES is to find the parent key of the mode your in then find the 4 and 5 chord of that parent key. Here's an example. If you want to play in E minor "Aeolin" or natural minor. Em is the 6 chord of G. G is the parent key. A 1 4 5 progression would be G C D. Play an Em in the bass and play the 4 and 5 chord on top, C and D, you have the Aeolian mode sound. You should play all 7 modes this way. Good News! I explain it all in this video. I learned this from 2 of the best guitar players in the world Teddy Kumple, and Frank Gambale. Enjoy the video and have a great week Everybody 🎸
