How and When to Use The Harmonic Minor Scale and Phrygian Dominant Mode
Hello Cherries, The Harmonic Minor Scale raises the seventh degree of the natural minor scale to create a strong V-i cadence 🤨 It adds a more intense sound to minor key compositions 🧐 The Phrygian Dominant Mode is the 5th mode of the harmonic minor scale, featuring an exotic, Spanish or Eastern flavor due to its characteristic ♭2 and ♭6 intervals, and is primarily used over dominant 7 chords, especially in minor keys to enhance V7→i progressions and in genres like Flamenco and metal. In this video I'll show you how and when to use the scale 😎 I'll also give you 3 sextuplet "6-note patterns" that will have you blazing the scale all across the fretboard. Enjoy the video and have a great week Everybody 🎸
