Playing the major scale around the CAGED system involves mapping five distinct scale shapes over corresponding C, A, G, E, and D open chord forms, allowing for full fretboard navigation in any key. By learning these interconnected patterns, you can visualize and play major scales across the entire neck. This is such a great system that I wished I had learned starting off. Playing the major scale this way is also part of a system. With these same forms and shapes the chord, arpeggio, pentatonic scale, and major scale are all in the same place under your fingers with minimal movement.
