Hello Cherries! A minor blues is a 12-bar musical structure that replaces the dominant, joyful sound of a major blues with a darker, moodier, and more dramatic feel. Like traditional blues, it uses the I, IV, and V chords, but shifts the tonality using minor and dominant 7th chords. When soloing over it you can use the Minor Pentatonic scale or the Minor scale. You can also think about how modes work over the three chords so that you can target specific intervals. You can also use Minor 2-5-1's which are really cool giving you a jazzy outside sound to effectively play "Through the changes."
